Money moves between people.
In every market outside Bhutan a payer can pay by card or wallet through the automated payment gateway, and the request settles itself the moment the payment clears. Inside Bhutan the mBoB and eTeeru rails stay open: the payer transfers to the provider, attaches the transaction reference, and the provider confirms receipt in their console.
What a request carries.
- Reference code
- A short code in the form BSA-XXXXXX, given to the payer the moment the request is submitted.
- Card and wallet
- Handled by the payment gateway, which confirms the payment and settles the request automatically, with no reference to paste and nothing for the provider to click.
- Pay-to number
- The provider's own mBoB mobile banking number or eTeeru ID, chosen by the payer's method.
- Transaction reference
- Pasted from the banking receipt so the provider can match it against their statement.
- Amount and service
- The agreed amount, in the currency of the provider's own market, tied to one of the provider's published services.
Two rules worth knowing
- A card payment is confirmed by the gateway itself, so nobody has to mark it received. On the mBoB and eTeeru rails the provider confirms receipt, and withdrawals, refunds and disputes are settled directly between the payer and the provider.
- A request can only be raised in a market that has unlocked. Until then the provider's listing is visible, but payments stay closed.
Look up a request.
